The Joggins Fossil Cliffs is located in Nova Scotia on the eastern shore of Chignecto Bay, on the northern arm of the Bay of Fundy,. Approximately 300 million years ago it was a tropical wetland forest located near the equator. Known as the "Coal Age Galapagos," the Joggins Fossil Cliffs provides a glimpse into the Coal Age through the many fossils found there.
