First Class Paul Barraza, a combat medic with C Co., 29th Brigade Support Batt., Hawaii Army National Guard, makes his way through scrub brush on his way to a testing waypoint during the land navigation and skills testing portion of the 2014 Region VII Best Warrior Competition. This regional competition showcases Soldiers and NCOs from eight different states and territories, testing their knowledge of Army regulations, basic Soldier and NCO skills and physical capabilities to decide who will represent Region VII at the National Competition as the best Soldier and NCO of 2014.
