DAVIDSON, WILLIAM ADRIAN : 2ndLieutenant, 2nd Battalion Gordon High-landers ; eldest son ofAlexander Davidson,Blythewood, Inverurie;born Aberdeen, 28 De-cember 1894 ; edu-cated at the GrammarSchool and GordonsCollege, Aberdeen, andlater at Trinity College,Glenalmond; he com-menced the study ofMedicine at AberdeenUniversity in 1912. In January 1915 heentered the , Sandhurst, and after a fewmonths of training was gazetted to the GordonHighlanders, 2nd Battalion, with which heserved in France till the following September,when, having been wounded in action near. 33 IN MEMORIAM. On recovery,and after a short period of home service (atStoneywood Wireless Station) he rejoined hisregiment in France ; three months later he wasmortally wounded in action near Mametz, anddied on 2 July 1916.
