March 3. 1887.; Scope and content: Reverend Henry Ward Beecher, pastor of Plymouth Congregational Church, Brooklyn, , encouraged his congregation to adopt and forward resolutions to government authorities in Washington, urging the removal of the Metlakahtla Christian Mission to Alaska from British Columbia. Beecher's action was prompted by Duncan's address to his congregation on January 16, 1887.
