This appears, by the inscription, to have contained Bugloss (Buglox), a simple much in repute in ancient pharmacy. The female figure pourtrayed upon the vase, was probably the portrait of the lady-love of the painter, whose name he wished to transmit to posterity, " Puccia di Domenico," that is, Puccia, daughter of Domenico.
