Caption: Captain Harry Townsend captured this photograph of a Nieuport 28 plane from the 147th Aero Squadron of the First Pursuit Group during World War One. The Nieuport 28 was known for its maneuverability, making it an excellent fighter aircraft. However, it has since been replaced by the "Spad" in other squadrons. Only the pilots of the 147th Squadron continue to fly the Nieuport, but soon it will be phased out and replaced entirely by the Spad.
