PACIFIC OCEAN (Dec. 11, 2015) Ship's Serviceman 3rd Class Carlos Cazares and Gunner's Mate 1st Class Brandon Sonia load a .50-caliber machine gun aboard Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47). Rushmore is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (15th MEU), is currently operating in the 3rd Fleet area of responsibility.
