28 years after the French bombing of the Rainbow Warrior in Auckland Harbour the new Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior III is visiting Auckland as part of a nationwide campaign to raise environmental awareness. Thousands of Aucklanders have queued throughout the day to visit the ship. The latest Rainbow Warrior is a purpose built ship of sustainable design. She has an innovative 55m-high A frame mast system. A central oil and fuel filling system to prevent spillages. A biological filtering system to recycle gray water and storage of up to 59 cubic metres of black water.
