It is the architectural ensemble of the most famous Moscow’s landmarks. The Kremlin Clock or Kremlin Chimes (also known colloquially in the West as Moscow Clock Tower) strikes the small musical phrase every 15 minutes. The Intersession Cathedral on the Moat (well-known as St. Basil's Cathedral from the 19th century) was built by order of the first Russian tsar Ivan the Terrible (Ivan IV) to commemorate the victory of Russian army in 1552 over the Kazan Khanate (part of Tatar and Mongol Kingdom "Golden Horde").
