Osaka Tenjin Matsuri is a series of Shinto rituals which take place at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and other locations in Osaka-city. Osaka Tenmangu enshrines deified Michizane Sugawara, also known as Tenjin. Although festival events are held from the end of June for about a month, the highlights are Yoimiya-sai on July 24th and Honmiya-sai on July 25th. It attracts more than one million visitors every year.
