Commenda di Pri former Hospital in Genoa Italy
Dating back to 1180AD, the Commandery of the Saint John's Order is called "Commenda di San Giovanni di Pré".This church is built in Romanesque Style. This Knights Templar hospital/church is on two floors and tells the story of the Knights of St John Hospitaller returning from the crusades setting up a hospital to cater both for sick people and pilgrims. This church is considered one of the oldest in Genoa. Located next to the eponymous medieval and in one complex with a Romanesque bell tower, Gothic original interior and baroque altars. They have a Simples Garden where they grew the herbs used to medicate the sick
