No evidence of increased blood destruction as reported by someobservers is seen, either as evidenced by phagocytosis of red cells or increasedpigmentation. Bone-marrow.—The red marrow is increased in quantity and very activethroughout all the bones. Microscopically the sections of the marrow are nor-mal except for a general hyperplasia as is seen in any moderately severe anemia.
