No wonder that at the meal hours everyone responded with a vim and did credit to as sumptuous aud delicious a menu as could be provided by our cap- tain. J)rinks of all kinds were served in abundance. After an all-day trip the ]»arty landed at (Jrimd Isle and went immediately to the different sleeping quarters provided. Hathing, fishing, banqueting, visiting, sightseeing and dancing occupied the next <lay until late at night, a most enjoyable time being spent by everyone. Monday, at daybreak, found the whole bunch at the beach once more to tell old Father Nei)tune farewell, and at 0:30 a. m. the good boat Hazel took its course homeward, stopping at Manilla village, Barataria bay, where there is one of the biggest dried-shrimp indus- tries in the south. Charles Kble had the entire party assembled on the immense idatform, and cleverly took a snapshot of the merrymakers. During the ban- (juet on the return trip, jovial C. K. Panter, the society's secretary, acted as toastmaster and called on President H. ('. Uoescher, Vice-president Max Schein- iik, Ed. Baker. Paul Abele, Kichard Kichling and others. An eloquent ad- dress was made by Mr. Panter and M. Stolzenthaler responded for the guest-s. Business cares were forgotten during the entire trip, which will l)e long re- inembered as one of the most pleasant held in years. The outing committee received un- stinted praise from eve
