We have held two conferences this year, their greatvalue lying in the fact that those who participatedin the discussions were practical workers and employers promoting Welfare work. The first conference gave a general view of Welfarework, and the report, which contained illustrationsof practical efforts, has not only proven a great reve-lation, but has stimulated many to undertake simi-lar work. An interesting illustration of the valueof this report came from one employer who requestedeighty copies to distribute among his foremen, whohad been inclined to knock all his efforts alongthis line, the employer having found that those whohad read his copy had radically changed their views. Our second conference dealt with specific subjects,such as Insurance Associations, Banks for Employes,and the Labor Department; and this plan will becontinued. In addition, plans have
