This is a real situation. Image not to be used in a defamatory context. Nurse dressing a patient's leg. Practice nurse dressing the leg of an 88 year old male patient with a venous ulcer. An ulcer is an open sore on the skin which has failed to heal. Venous ulcers are caused by high blood pressure damaging the skin, leading to its breakdown. Treatment is with the application of compression bandages.
