5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (June 3, 2017) The guided-missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG 103) fires its Mark 45 5-inch gun during a live fire exercise. Truxtun is part of the George Bush Carrier Strike Group deployed in the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
