Highlighting his contributions to the Navy, CW5 Brashear was appointed as an Honorary Navy Chief Petty Officer by the Master Chief Petty officer (MCPON) of the Navy Russell Smith during the ceremony for his relentless dedication to the United States Navy. Highlighting his contributions to the Navy, CW5 Brashear was appointed as an Honorary Navy Chief Petty Officer by the Master Chief Petty officer (MCPON) of the Navy Russell Smith during the ceremony for his relentless dedication to the United States Navy. Over the course of 17 years, CW5 Brashear inspired Sailors and members of the Chiefs Mess to keep pushing forward in the face of adversity, volunteering his service to the Navy, and accepting responsibility beyond the call of printed assignment.
