Muhonia uqulfolium. "Oregon ; Pacific Coast. Shining, purplish, prickly leaves; bright yellow flowers; berries blue-black. A native variety widely used where autumn leaf color effects arc a consideration, and also for thicket effects. M. japonica, syn. M. bcali.
