This light-weight hand prothesis has flexible fingers and is hydraulically controlled by miniature cylinders small enough to fit inside the fingers. It has a large pinching force, about 30 Newton, combined with an ability for fine handwork like writing and handling a scissor. This prothesis has been developed by the Delft Institute of Prosthetics and Orthotics of the technical University Delft.
