Still, all that custom coachwork and luxury features didn't come cheap, and the Eldorado carried a big $7,750 base price — almost $2,000 more than the next-most-expensive Cadillac, the Fleetwood 75 Imperial eight-passenger limousine. That's also more than twice the price of the $3,498 Corvette. It was no surprise then that only 532 Eldorados were sold that year.
