PACIFIC OCEAN (April 21, 2017) Sailors and Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) run the Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) 5K on the flight deck. SAAPM is observed each April to identify and strengthen the roles that Sailors and Marines play in combating sexual assault.
