Parish church of St John, Helsington, near Brigsteer, Cumbria, England UK


Built in 1726 and substantially restored in 1858 the church is a simple rectangular building with Westmorland slate roof and a bell-cote on the western end. Its full title is the Parish Church of St John, Helsington. It sits on the edge of a limestone escarpment with magnificent views over the Lyth Valley and the Lake District hills. To the south is Morecambe Bay and Arnside Knott. Around it is open National Trust land.
