LED street lighting. This lamp, which uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) instead of conventional light sources, is in Torraca, Italy - the first municipality in the world to install street lighting consisting entirely of LEDs. LEDs are far more energy efficient. They can save up to ten times the power required for conventional lighting and can last up to a hundred times longer.
