EDUCATIONAL. The first school was taught by Jack Fowler, a cousin of iVright, in 1840, within the present limits of Paris and wasSupported wholly by private subscription. Subsequently theschools received aid from the state fund derived from the sale ofpublic finds. The tree schools of the state were organized in1873, and the counties di\idtd into school communities, underlirect supervision of the County Judge and trustees in the severalimmunities. Previously, a perpetual school fund had beencreated, for which purpose one-half of the public domain of thestate had been set apart, the proceeds of the sale
