The row of Donkin Street terraced houses in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.


The Donkin Street houses were built between 1860 and 1880 on land that was created by filling in the row of terraced houses had fallen into disrepair and a controversial restoration process by the current owner has been in the news regularly . The whole street was declared a national monument in 1967 and it is a great pity that their heritage has not been protected adequately.
