Traditional mud cloth, now called Bogolanfini depicting various animals and two hunters. The use of mud as a painting pattern on cotton is typical of the Bamana (Bamara) of Mali, centred on the Beledougou area north and northeast of Bamako. Women spin the locally-grown cotton, then men weave long bands that are joined together. The designs of Bogolanfini are traditionally made by women
