Ruegen - tree on Ummanz
Die Insel Ummanz / Rügen, die am Kubitzer und Schaproder Bodden liegt, ist mit 20 km² immerhin die viertgrößte Insel Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns. Die wunderschöne Natur mit ihrer einzigartigen Pflanzen- und Tierwelt wurde in den Nationalpark eingegliedert. Die Insel ist ein flaches und überschaubares Land, das sich kaum 3 m über den Meeresspiegel erhebt.
