From 1909 to 1912 he was a member of the execu-tive council of the American Bankers 1913 he was elected president of the board ofoverseers of Whitman college, of Walla Walla. Heis interested in the historical, literary and educa*tional development of the Pacific Northwest, as wellas in its economic, industrial and financial prog-ress.
