Tick engorged with blood. The tick is swollen in size after feeding on the blood of its mammal host. The legs are protruding from its body either side of its mouthparts (lower right). Ticks are arthropods that feed on the blood of various mammals, including humans. They are vectors for several diseases, such as lyme disease.
