A sign for the Haff Yok cafe in Pierowall on Westray in the Orkney islands.

The cafe's web site says 'The term ‘Haff Yok‘ comes directly from a local farming term used when the farmers and the ploughing horses were given a break from their work. A modern translation would be ‘Elevenses’ and would be the closest in use today.'
