Butthe Colonel commandingwas going to make a grandshow of his Regimentnow. Huntsville was a finetown, inhabited by refined,wealthy people, and itwould never do for us tomarch through the city inour shirt sleeves and otherwise slovenly attire. So the orderwas given to have the men put on their coats and adjust theirequipments preparatory to a grand march through the boys were not averse to participating in this kind ofa parade under ordinary circumstances, but just now thecondition was not particularly pleasing.
