The Piazza del Campidoglio or Capitol Square is located on top of the Capitoline Hill in Rome. The plaza was designed by Michelangelo who designed in detail. Its design is trapezoidal, on which Michelangelo aligned the new palaces, this design had the function to expand the perspective to the visual focus constituted by the Senatorial Palace.
