Amor is disguised as Ascanius; History of Dido and Aeneas. Venus gives Amor the form of Ascanius, the son of Aeneas. The sleeping Ascanius is lifted by Venus, Amor turns up to leave disguised as Ascanius to the feast of Queen Dido. The print is part of a six-part series of prints with scenes from the mythological story of Dido and Aeneas.
