Tourists visit the beautifully well-preserved Roman-era Hadrian's Gate in Kaleici, Antalya, Turkey (Turkiye). The original Roman stone roadway that passes through the gate is deeply rutted after hundreds of years of carts passing through. The gate was discovered during excavations in the 1950s and is believed to have been built in the second century AD during the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Despite its age, the gate and its surrounding area have been remarkably well-preserved, providing a glimpse into the history of the region. Visitors can walk through the gate and marvel at its intricate carvings and imposing presence, as well as the fascinating Roman pavement beneath their feet.
