" LIBERTY ROSE RUELLIA MAKOYANA (Carmine Blossoms) A new Brazilian plant of easiest growth for the house as well as the garden, forming in a short time specimens measuring two to three feet across, with over three hundred flowers open at one time. Leaves RAINBOW coLKus velvety, dark olive green, with prominent silvery white midrib and veins; underpart purplish wine color and very ornamental. Flowers large, brilliant carmine, produced even on plants in 2-inch pots, and almost during the entire year. Grows vigorously in shady places and would probably make a fine Easter plant. We positively recommend it as one of o«r finest introductions of recent years. It was exhibited at the great floral display of Ghent in grand specimens, measuring nine feet around. Will grow far easier than a Geranium, but likes somewhat peaty soil or charcoal drainage. Price, each, 20c. New Japanese Kudzu Vine JUDDLEIA VARIABILIS If you wish a vine that will grow anywhere, in the best or poorest soil, then plant the Kudzu Vine. It will flourish where nothing else will grow, and will last for years. The bold large leaves are of the brightest green, and afford a dense shade. The clusters of purple Wistaria-like flowers, 6 to 7 inches long, are very fragrant, and its wonderfully quick growth makes it an invaluable plant for covering arbors, fences, porches, etc. Thomas fleehan, Philadel- phia, says of it: "There is possibly nothing like it in the whole vegetable kingdom. It is extremely valuable for covering anything in one season, and interesting to the lover of the wonder- ful. It has grown on our grounds 50 feet in one sea- son. Price, each, Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - co
