After completinghis studies in the metropolis, returned to his native State,where he soon took high rank in hisprofession, being appointed secre-tary of the Board of Pension Ex-aminers, president County Board ofHealth and surgeon to the B. & E. and South Penn. Oil Co., be-sides a lucrative private practice. In1896 he retvirned to the home ofhis boyhood—St. Louis—where heengaged in a successful generalpractice.
