An old press photograph of watercress (sometimes known as yellowcress) been grown commercially in Hampshire, England. ----- Alresford (pronounced Allsford) was once (possibly still is) considered the watercress capital of Britain . It still celebrates its connection with a Watercress Festival each year. The Watercress Line (railway ) was built to transport watercress from Alresford in Hampshire to Covent garden in London.
