The same may- be said of carnations. These are com- ing in fine, but the small demand for them has caused a slump in the prices of the fancy grades. These conditions will jirevail as long as the mum season lasts. As we have had no frost, dahlias, cosmos, tuberoses and a few gladioli still are coming in heavily. Valley and lilies hold their own in price and de- mand. All greens are plentiful and asparagus has an excellent demand. Various Notes. • The meeting of the Retail Florists' Association took place October 19 at the Washington hotel and was one of the best the association has ever held. The association was on the verge of disbanding, but on account of the re- newed interest displayed at the meet- ing, it was decided to continue. A ban- quet will be held November 11 at the Washington hotel. The officers are much pleased with the turn of affairs. All re- tailers are urged to join and make it strong enough to carry out all its teach- ings.
