The Rayburn children – 4-year-old Zach, 8-year-old Scott, and 6-year-old Kaitlin - participate in a field day at Gettysburg in 1995. Their father, retired Lt. Col. Tom Rayburn, regularly took them to civil war battlefields to watch reenactments and attend the educational events that were available, planting the seed of service to the nation early on in his children’s lives.
