Tewkesbury was placed on flood alert after last night torrential rain and storms. Resident Geoffrey Hubbard said “There was amazing sheet lightning that lit up the whole Severn flood plain”. The environment agency has set up a base to monitor rise of the River Severn and Avon which flow close to Tewkesbury.
