View NE of St Mary the Virgin Church, Ovingham, Northumberland, England, UK, with a pre-Conquest W tower. The S doorway is late C12th but the rest of the church - chancel, aisled transepts, nave & S porch - is mainly C13th, restored 1857. The vestry at the base of the tower has Georgian windows. The tower has long and short work at the corners, two-light round-arched bell openings with baluster mullion & pierced roundel, & other round-headed windows. Dressed stone, teep pitched Welsh slate roofs, floriate cross finials on all gables.
