Tim LaFleur during the ceremony held about the amphibious assault ship USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3). The ceremony also marked the end of Adm. LaFleurÕs 35-year naval career. COMNAVSURFPAC administers to assigned forces, conducts training, provides for logistic support, and exercises operational control of forces not assigned to other commanders as directed by CINCPACFLT. The general mission of the staff is to ensure that maximum support is provided to the Commander in maintaining all units of the Force in the optimum state of training, readiness, discipline and morale.
