Map showing the proposed plans for docks in Wapping, London, Great Britain, published in 1794. These docks, with some modifications, were built between 1799 and 1815 and occupied 120,000 square metres of land. A became Western Dock and Tobacco Dock, B is Wapping Basin, C is Hermitage Basin and D is Eastern Dock. The proposed cut to Blackwall shown on this map was not built. The docks were closed in 1971 as they became unable to cope with the size of modern container ships.
