A Rail Replacement bus stands at Burscough Bridge Interchange Lancashire England Trains on the Southport to Manchester service are only running from Wigan to Manchester and from Wigan to Southport have been replaced by rail replacement buses, and here one stands outside the Burscough Bridge interchange building. This was due to train guards, who are members of the Rail and Maritime union, taking industrial action across the north of England in respect of the prospect of their duties being replaced by on board train supervisors. Train services on Mersey Rail and Northern trains are affected though some trains where running.
