Car windscreen wash water may be the cause of 20% of cases of Legionnaires' Disease says the UK Health Protection Agency. Adding Screenwash to the water kills bacteria in the water bottle and reduces the chance of infection. The problem occurs when water droplets are sprayed on the windscreen and the spray enters the air in the vehicle by passing through an open window or into the ventilation system and is then inhaled so potentially causing Legionnaires' Disease
