Commemorative plaque devoted to Czech economist and politician Alois Rašín on the house where he lived in Žitná Street in Nové Město (New Town) in Prague, Czech Republic. Alois Rašín served as the first Finance Minister of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918-1919. He was shot in front of this house on 5 January 1923 and died after a long period of suffering on 18 February 1923. Text in Czech means: Alois Rašín was killed here in service to his homeland.
