E face of Maen Achwyfan Cross, a late C10th disc-headed wayside cross still in its original position. The decoration on all four sides shows a mix of Celtic, Northumbrian, Scandinavian and Anglo-Saxon influences: this face has an expanded arm cross of triquetra knots with a central boss, a spear-carrying warrior trampling a serpent, spiral loops, a diagonal cross, ribbon plait & other abstract designs.
