MILES, son of Lawrence^, and grandson ofHugh^, the third child of the second marriage,and father of the writer of this sketch, was bornon the old homestead in the County Tyrone, Ire-land, in 1811. He married Jane McConnell in1829, and emigrated to Canada in 1834, with hisyoung wife and three small children, John, Law-rence, and Reynolds, named in the order of theirbirth, the youngest being an infant about twomonths old in his mothers arms. Their otherchildren, Barney, Mary, James, George, Josephand Francis were born on the old homestead up-on which their parents first settled soon aftercoming to Canada, and which is still in the pos-session of the 62 McAleer Genealogy.
