St Mary le Bow, church in the City of Londoon, rebuilt after the Great Fire of London (1666) by Christopher Wren, 1670-1680. Tenor bell, The Great Bell of Bow. As featured in the nursery rhyme 'Oranges and Lemons'. Bow Bells are also associated with being a genuine Cockney: Londoners have to be born 'within the sound of Bow Bells' to qualify. Bears the name of Mears (now Whitechapel Bell Foundry).
