For this purpose hehad procured a quantity of Number 29 wire, of soft iron, bright and clean, such as is used to fasten corks in beerbottles. This he threw across the trolley wire, and beganto amuse his companions by showing them how to geta shock. The lad had previously been at work in anelectrical supply manufactory and knew, it is ascertained, something of the power and danger of the current. This little knowledge proved a very dangerous his attempts to get a shock the boy was unsuccess-ful, until he stepped upon the car tracks and completed thecircuit. In the meantime he had wrapped the wire sev-eral times around his hand and arm, as described in thereport of the physician, which is Our sketch herewith shown gives the relative positionsof the lad, showing him both on the pavement and lyingupon the track.
